Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful and safe Christmas and New Year! Sheri and I welcomed the New Year with friends at a lake house on Cedar Creek Lake. It was great to get away, unplug for a couple of days, watch football, fireworks, and hang out. It also gave me a little time to journal and think about things for the coming year.
One of the things I spent some time thinking about was this blog. I’ve written about 600 blog posts since I began writing five year ago. The purpose of the blog has been to provide an educational forum for people to better understand their insurance. That purpose will continue to guide me as I write throughout this year and the years to come.
I’ve talked with too many people who didn’t understand what their policies cover and why they should have certain coverage or limits on those policies. I believe it’s vital to provide a forum which addresses those issues in a safe, non-selling manner whether a person is one of our clients or not. I’ll continue to write about:
- The components of a policy
- Optional coverage worth considering
- Insurance related issues in the coming Texas legislature
- Federal policy issues that may impact policy holders
- Technology’s impact on insurance
- Claim related issues
- Questions to address when considering coverage
- Insurance trends
I will write two posts each week for the coming year. The post which appears on Tuesday will be focused on home and renter’s related insurance topics. The Thursday post will address a variety of topics including car, life, and business insurance, as well as, topics which are insurance related. If you’re only getting the Tuesday post and would like to be receive the Thursday post, please let me know.
The other thing I believe is vital is to provide a forum where people can ask specific questions they need and want answered. If this blog is truly going to be a resource for you then its needs to address those topics that are important to you. In order to write about those topics, I need to hear from you what questions you have and what topics you want addressed. Let me know by sending me an email at
ed*****@wi****************.com
, or call the office, send me a text message, or a message through Facebook, LinkedIn, or Google +. If I don’t address those questions and topics, then I’ve truly missed the mark of what this blog should be about.
