One of the questions I’m asked about a home policy is whether or not it has foundation coverage. If you’ve lived in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, or many other parts of Texas, you know our soil moves. This seems to affect north Texas more than any other part of the state. What backpacking taught me about my business – Part 1

We started up in short sleeves and added layers as we climbed to our camp site. I brought up the rear playing with the camera on my iPhone (it weighs a lot less than my 35mm Canon) and was truly enjoying myself when I found myself thinking about how heading up an insurance agency was not very different from what I was doing at that moment. New Year’s Resolutions 2013

?Christmas is over. The decorations are put away, the tree dropped off at Home Depot for recycling, and 2013 has arrived. If you watched any TV in the past 48 hours you probably noticed a lot of commercials about weight loss and quitting smoking, two of the more popular resolutions every year. Many people make resolutions prior to ringing in the New Year. Other’s don’t make resolutions and argue we should set goals and objectives instead. My belief is whichever method works for you is the right one!

Last week’s blog, “Gap coverage, an important option to have,” examined an optional coverage that can be added to most car insurance policies. A new car loses 11% of its value the minute you drive it off the lot and 15% to 25% each year thereafter for the first 5 years. GAP coverage can be a financial life saver. While that’s helpful for your loan and your wallet, it doesn’t really get you a new car.
