Health insurance for Texans is becoming increasingly expensive and has fewer options for participating doctors and hospitals. It may also require more out of pocket than it did in 2016. I know. I received my renewal packet and my rate starting in December will be 29% higher than what I’m paying now. The exchange opens on Tuesday, November 1st so here’s an overview of what’s coming
Most Texas car insurance policies may contain up to 7 sections within them. The first section forms the foundation coverage for our car insurance. In fact, it is the only section the state of Texas requires policy holders to carry, and that’s liability coverage.
Thirteen earthquakes struck north Texas in a 24 hour period last week hitting near the former site of Texas stadium in Irving. North Texans began asking, “Where were you when the quakes struck?” The top three quakes measured 3.1, 3.5, and 3.6 on the Richter scale, with the remaining tremors measuring between 1.6 and 2.9. Many north Texans were shaken up. Calls began to pour in to city offices, fire and police departments, as well as offices of homeowners’ insurance agents.
My search for health insurance has been interesting to say the least. Until this year, it’s been a relatively easy task; place a call to my broker, have her provide me with quotes, review the plans, pick a plan, pay the bill each month, and forget about it for another year. All that changed this year with the Affordable Care Act.
