I helped a new Dallas client with her car insurance this week. We were able to save her $300 a year over what she’s paying now and give her better coverage. One of the ways we added coverage and kept the price lower is by offering her a discount for agreeing to let the new car insurance company monitor her driving for up to 4 months.
My friend’s son graduated from Texas A&M University and moved to Dallas to begin working with a company in the Las Colinas area. As the mom and I discussed the policy, I asked her how long she planned to leave her son on their car insurance policy. She and her husband were thinking about “encouraging” him to get his own policy now that he’s on his own. More people are buying new cars as we continue to see the U.S. economy slowly improving. These new car buyers are replacing older cars that they’ve driven longer. Another factor that’s helped people move forward with new car purchases are the low interest rates we’ve enjoyed the past several years.
